I thought I would start off by giving a bit of an extended introduction. If you don’t really care, which doesn’t offend me, feel free to skip this part!
I am Kaitlyn. Here is a picture that represents my whole world.
My husband and I have been married for nearly 3 years and our beautiful baby boy was born in January of 2016. We recently moved to Utah County from our “home” in Cache Valley to start our newest adventure. Upon moving, I took some time off from working as a nurse. During that time I found my true passion which is Labor & Delivery. I currently work full-time nights and love helping all you mamas get your babies here.
I tell most people we moved because my husband got an AMAZING job, which he did. But that isn’t the full truth.
The truth is, I am a mama suffering from Postpartum Depression & Anxiety.
With the return of this disease, after I thought I had it handled, came dark days and even darker thoughts. I felt completely alone and was drowning fast. After spending 5 days in the hospital, my husband and I decided to move south to be closer to my family (to read more about my personal battle with this disease, click this page). Upon moving, I knew that I wanted to become better and have new beginnings.
Thus, My Postpartum Life was born.
This is a safe space where I want to be real about becoming a mama and that it isn’t always picture perfect like our Instagram account shows. Sometimes motherhood is only viewed as pretty flowers & joyful moments. However, there can be sorrow involved in being a mama as well. Here we talk real about some of these sorrows, with emphasis on PPD,
I am so happy you are here & hope that you will find some peace, joy or whatever it is you need from my blog. Thanks for being a part of it.
