BEST TIP EVER: Spread Love Around Like Confetti.

I don’t know why but my heart has been heavy all day today.

It could be because love hurts.

We have been given the blessing of love.

It is universally understood but cannot be explained.

Love can also be a curse.

Love causes an ache so deep that we can never forget.

To the mama person whose child is wayward,

continue in faith.

To the mama person who can’t seem to bring a baby into this world,

your sorrow is understood by God.

To the mama person who doesn’t recognize the person they love anymore,

pray for them.

To the mama person whose child was taken too soon,

your child is in the arms of our Savior.

To the mama person whose anxiety/depression is getting the best of them,

look into the eyes of your children loved ones.

My whole life I have had a heart that is too big. My heart is so sensitive and feels sorrow for those I don’t even know. This could explain why my heart is so heavy.

Although my heart aches for my own sorrows and those around me, I am grateful that we have the gift of love.

Because that is what it is… a gift.

If I had a choice to give up loving so that I would not have to feel the ache it brings with it, I would choose love every day.

In the words of Thomas S. Monson (President of the LDS church):

Love is… the noblest attribute of the human soul. Love is the remedy for ailing families, ill communities, and sick nations. Love is a smile, a wave, a kind comment, and a compliment. Love is sacrifice, service, and selflessness.

Without the pure love of Christ, Mormon counsels, ‘[we] are nothing.’”

Our world would be even worse than it is if we did not have love. So during the month designated for love..

 Kaitlyn

PS- If you would like to read more of the words by Thomas S. Monson, his message for February is centered on love.

I lost my mom very recently and if nothing else, it taught me that life is short and I need to make the most of every minute with people I care about.

You are so right!!! When you give love, usually you get it in greater quantities. That is something we need to always remember!

Ahhh, thank you so much! I seriously am so grateful for your comment. Loving is such a great gift and we need to remember it as such, even when it is hard. This post was really hard for me to write so I am glad it touched you the way it did!

I am very inspired by what you have written. Growing up I always had my “perfect” situation for being a mom. That is not what Heavenly Father had in mind for me, but like you said I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I love being a mom, and love sharing encouragement with all of God’s children.

Thank you for your sweet comment. I really love it because there is no such thing as a “perfect” situation for being a mama, boy do I wish there was! If so, I wouldn’t have had to go through PPD & anxiety this last year. But going through that has taught me just how much I really do love my little family and myself! It has helped learn to more fully encourage and love those around me.

I get like that from time to time too, big-hearted and so so sensitive to the things in the world around me. It can be painful to have such a depth of feeling, and sometimes it’s even more so when I see it in my youngest daughter (We call her Marshmallow because she’s so “soft.”) But these people, the big-hearted, the sensitive, the Marshmallows … they are the people with the most confetti. And that in itself is such a God-given blessing, we can only share it – that’s what we have it for.

I love this comment so much!!! You are right, those that love so much have more to give. We have to remember that giving love is so worth it because it helps others. I always have to remember my why to get through when I am having a hard time with giving and giving, and getting nothin in return. I am sure your daughter is so sweet!

I love this post, it’s so true! I tried my best to be helpful to others, and but sometimes it’s hard because no matter how much you tried to radiate love there are people who always find a way to bring you down with words that they don’t realize hurt… Some people shouldn’t question why others do things cause they don’t know why or what it brings out. So thank you for posting this I needed it after reading a message today that kind of hurt.

You are so welcome! I am really glad to hear it helped you. I have always had hard spots I come upon in my life where I feel like I give and give and give, and get nothing in return. It is so hard! In those moments we need to remember why we are doing it for others. You are so right, we can’t always question why others do what they do. We are worth it and loving others makes it all the better!

This really got to me, because I have been going through a lot and sometimes I just don’t feel like I have that love in my life anymore. I have been feeling very alone. It’s nice to know that people out there really think about you and give you love even if they don’t know you. Thank you.

You are so right. Love is joyful, and also painful. I learned that lesson yesterday especially as I watched my grandfather pass away. The love everyone had for him was tangible that it has caused pain, but it is a good kind of pain.

Everybody could do with a little more love. We love each day and love everything we do. Everyone should live a more compassionate life and we would all be a little more happier.

Life is short. Tell people you love them all the time before it’s too late. I think losing someone is the only time love should ever hurt.

That is such a good philosophy to have, Nikki. We should only hurt when we lose someone. We actually lost my grandpa yesterday and my heart aches, but it is actually a good ache. We all loved him so much and he did so much good while he was here; that is why love hurts. Because we will miss the goodness people share with us!
